“Margherita Pizza Deconstructed”, 30” x 22”

Replicating a traditional fresco, this painting represents a Margherita pizza featuring the Italian water buffalo, who’s milk is made into mozzarella cheese. The other ingredients are represented by a wheat field, olive branches, tomatoes, and basil. It is an homage to the farmers who raise our food and the cooks who turn those ingredients into magic.

“Persephone’s Return”, 24” x 18”

This painting shows all that is spring and a mother’s love. Persephone returns from Hades and her mother, Demeter is so relieved and happy that she allows spring to return once again.

On Saturdays, my grandparents would pay each grandkid a quarter for pulling weeds in the garden and we were allowed to walk to the Ben Franklin Five and Dime on Main Street to pick out candy. We cousins would argue all the way, deciding how to pool our money so everyone got what they wanted.

This painting represents the beginning of a personal dream. To reach one's goal takes planning, gathering of resources, and possibly learning new skills. However, it also takes hard work and persistence to bring it to fruition.

These origami cranes represent the vision of the "Dreams Demand Work" painting and hang on either side of the larger painting.

“Dreams of Taos”, 20” x 15”

One of my favorite places is Taos, New Mexico and this represents all the places and people I encountered on a visit.
